Q. What are Carpet Shims made of?
A. Carpet Shims are a particle board type material comprised of water resistant, engineered resins, and natural fibers.

Q. If the product is a particle board type material, do I need a saw to cut it?
A. No. That is one of the great features of Carpet Shims. All you need is a simple carpet knife. Just score several times at the length or angle that you need and SNAP IT. It is that simple.

Q. What is the minimum quantity that we can purchase?
A. Distributors can now order Carpet Shims in any quantities they would like. They are available in quantities of one box of 10 - 1/2" shims, a box of 12 - 3/8" shims, a box of 18 - 1/4" shims, or a box of 3 - 1" x 24" x 48" Super Shims, up to a semi-load. Carpet stores and installers can purchase any quantity they wish from one of our Distributors. Call 877-596-1591 to locate a Distributor near you.

Q. Will Carpet Shims work on Concrete?
A. Yes, Carpet Shims will work on concrete surfaces. Simply glue the carpet shim to the concrete with a good contact cement and let dry. Place the tack strip in correct location on the carpet shim and use concrete nails to nail through tack strip and carpet shim.

Q. In what installations are Carpet Shims recommended?
A. On any installation where you are using carpet next to a hard surface, i.e., marble, tile, stone, or hardwood, where there is a height difference.
